Bayonetta
I finished the game yesterday and Bayonetta is definitely a cool game to play.
For a shooter, its highly entertaining with the comical tones interlaced with the action sequences. My favourite technique for Bayonetta was the breakdance move where she would drop onto her back and spin around firing from all of her guns (hands and feet) before finishing the move with the typical breakdancer pose. The variation to the torture moves she makes is also entertaining and its quite funny seeing the enemies have a sudden look of dread on them as Bayonetta unleashes her worst.
The styling of the game is good, I had no problems with frame rates or other glitches. I mainly played the storyline rather than spending time looking around for things or exploring the worlds, but I will most likely pick up the game again later and spend more time looking around rather than just focusing on the story.
There are three levels of difficulty to begin with, Very Easy; Easy and Normal. I believe that these relate more to the button combo’s used for Bayonetta’s moves with Very Easy having one button to push for her combo, Easy with two buttons and Normal probably has a few more, plus there are automatic actions by Bayonetta on Very Easy and Easy difficulty. I think that if you manage to finish the game on Normal you then unlock the Hard difficulty level. Considering I have poor game skills as it is lol, I chose to work on the Easy difficulty setting. Probably would have been fine with the Very Easy setting but anyway it wasn’t too bad.
The game is pretty much a button mashing type of game with so many different moves, combo’s and techniques Bayonetta can perform. By the end of the first day I had played it my wrists, fingers and thumbs were completely numb but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm I had for the game. My first go at it I got up to Chapter 16 which is pretty much the final chapter anyway so I didn’t do too bad even for someone who prefers RPGs to anything else.
Its definitely a game to get – available on both Xbox 360 and PS3 – and one you can just enjoy for its pure entertainment.
Work time is over
I’ve been spending the holidays cleaning out a lot of crap from the garage and other rooms in the house. I am by no means finished as there’s still a bit I could go through but its too late now, I’ll be stuck glued to the TV with aching wrists and fingers by the end of the week (which is 3 days from now if the end of the week ends on Sunday).
It was payday today and also release day for a couple of cool games one of which I’d already pre-ordered, t
he other I had played the demo of and had been umming and ahhing over wheter to get it or not – as you can see I got it ^_^. Of course the hardest decision now is which one do I start with first?
I will, however, be doing other stuff as I can get some anime raws screencapped while playing since I don’t have to do much except get the program running – so there’s still work being done though not as much as there should be.
Will post a review of either or both games in the next couple of days.
