Well its regular now since this is the second time I’m posting on New Years Eve in the lead up to 2008.

Here in Australia its only another half hour (as at the time I begin writing this) until the clock ticks midnight and we say goodbye to 2007. Once again I’m at home as I’m past the age of wanting to go out and party on NYE – it often gets boring and its the usual crowds that go anyway and its way too hot tonight (we had 41C our max today). I’ve got the TV on as they countdown to the fireworks spectacular that will happen in Sydney. It’s kind of funny because we’re actually half an hour behind Sydney so they should already be celebrating midnight now.

2007 wasn’t anything amazing in my books – I’m relating to my personal life here not the world in general. The only good thing was paying off one loan and extending on my home loan so I could get some renovations done. That and my nephew had his first child in October and he and his new family have now returned to Australia and we all spent Christmas Day together.

Resolutions are not high on my list… wait that came out wrong What I mean is that I’m not bothered with making any resolutions as I never follow them through, or I never complete them. I’ve got a “To-Do List” which is probably as close as it will get to being a resolutions list. I guess really I’m just hoping for a good year this year, but I’m not keeping my hopes up high for such a thing to occur. There’s too many problems at work and things that I want to do will not get done because of these particular problems (namely our Director, whom we have no budget for her salary but she’s here for the whole of 2008 and is basically cutting things in order to justify her salary package, so there goes any chance of my reclassification going through). It’d be nice if a new job came up, one where I only needed to concentrate on one project at a time rather than ten at once. The problem with working in the government, though, is that you just go from one problem department to another, just a different set of problems. It’s a little too early to be judging how things will go this year and for all honesty… its just a job.

In other areas of my life, I’m once again going to try and at least do updates that are a bit more regular on a couple of my websites. Wait.. I only have a couple of websites that need updating!! After midnight tonight, I’ll be taking down the Animay forums. No posts since November, and then two of those posts were from me I’d already put up notification months ago about taking it down if no activity happened, and since none has happened well then its coming down. Its just taking up space that I need. On top of that I’ve been thinking about converting the ReBoot Mayhem website to a WordPress site. I can’t be bothered with all the fancy html and php stuff to work with and using something like WordPress would make updating it so much easier. Its just that I’d like it to look more like a site and less like a blog. There is a fan ReBoot website that is built on WordPress, though they don’t use a skin to make it look like a ‘regular’ site. Themes that are out there for WordPress mostly seem to base themselves on a blog aspect rather than a site. There are a few that look like magazine type sites which are pretty cool, though there’d have to be some messing around with the codes in order to make it look more like a ReBoot website rather than a newspaper website. I’ve still got a few weeks to work on that anyway lol.

Its definitely nicer being on holiday from work and the fact that I don’t go back until the 21st January, so its a nice long break.
