New Gundam to build!
This kit pictured here is currently on its way to my home address right now! After I first saw it, just like the other Master Grade kit I was working on, I knew I had to have it. This particular version is what you would say is an ‘upgraded’ version (I would anyway) from the original. It was originally released as a 1/100 Master Grade kit back in June last year and turned out to be a hot seller. Bandai decided to re-release this kit with a few added specials – its moulded in gloss colours and shiny gold plating, includes new accessories such as the folding screen and weapon stands, special display base and two different types of markings you can use to customise it. Granted the markings were also offered in the original version but I thought I’d mention them anyway ^_^. Of course there’s also a big price difference between the two – the original version costs 5,000Y ($52 US/$72AU). The new version costs 8,000Y ($82 US/$115AU). Now I did pop down to Shin Tokyo last week and sure enough they had this baby in stock, however the price, even with my membership, was $180AUD. In ordering it from HobbyLink Japan, I actually saved $40 off that price and that included the shipping costs! Total amount I paid in Australian dollars for the HLJ version was $138.40 which was pretty good as I caught the market at a good time lol.
When it arrives, I’m going to post up a finished image of the previous MasterGrade kit that I built, you know the one I started to document and then couldn’t be bothered uploading all the photos? And then I’ll see about whether I’ll document this one or just post up a few pictures of it as its being ‘created’…
Oh and I guess I should actually state what the gundam is called?! Its Shin Musha Gundam Sengoku no Jin and is based on Koei’s video game franchise.
RED – SAGA
Not a lot I can say about this as its pretty rare. The artist you see is YUNA, who created this little project which he called RED. It was his first collaboration with well-known musician Sugizo (LUNA SEA, Skin, X-Japan) before the two joined to form the group THE FLARE. I do not know what became of YUNA after THE FLARE disbanded so that’s where the story ends for now… >_>

PLC – Yume Kazaguruma & LOVE IS DEAD
Psycho le Cému are a cosplay band that dressed up as characters rather than the goth/visual-kei style that many other bands of their genre did. They were extremely successful but in 2005 lead singer Daishi was caught with stimulants in his system and he was arrested for drug possession. The band then announced that they would be going on hiatus to which they are still ‘on hiatus’ today. Nothing has ever been stated that the band had officially disbanded despite the lengthy amount of time they have been apart. The latest news on the grapevine, however, is that the band will be performing live together in June/July this year. Whether it will spark a reformation of the band or not is anyone’s guess.
