Powering along still. I’ve got a few pages left to do and seem to be delaying finishing off the character pages at the moment which is kind of weird, but nonetheless I continue to work hard, at least for most of the day today I am doubting that the site will be completed before the end of the month but will endeavour to work to get the site up as soon as I can.

And yes, Happy Birthday to me, I am now… much older than I was yesterday ;-p

It’s almost midnight which means two things, its time I should be going to bed, and shortly I’ll be turning over a new leaf… ie its my birthday. I started writing this post at 11.44pm so if finish it after midnight…

Anyway, I’ve managed to get more done on the website. The entire Downloads section is now complete. I also started working on the Links pages. Doesn’t sound like a lot but I’ve been going through some of my old CDs/DVDs looking for files that are missing from the site. One group of files I can’t seem to locate are the rips from the PS game that was released so long ago. I know I did them, but I can only find 3 clips and they aren’t the ones I’m looking for. I may have to do another search tomorrow but I’m really not sure where to look now. Maybe I didn’t save them after all? I’d be an idiot if that was the case. If I don’t find the original files, then I’ll just use what I’ve got. I did try to use a couple of the programs that you need to use to rip clips from a PSX disc, but unfortunately they won’t work on my system. That’s either because they’re old now or because of the lack of resources/space on my hard drive at the moment (I’m down to 12GB from 260GB!!) I’ll be spending some time cleaning up the hard drive soon.

So anyway, it means the site won’t be up by my birthday, though if you live overseas my birthday doesn’t actually happen for another two days lol so I could pretend my birthday is in another day’s time. Will the site be released by then? Don’t know yet. I think there is still a lot of fiddly bits to be done and I need to check everything before beginning to upload it, and then checking the uploaded files (minus the home page) online before it goes live to make sure its all fine. See, this proves that I’m a Virgo – I need to make sure everything is perfect… or at least near enough to being perfect (nothing’s perfect!)

Its just on 12 midnight and I’m buggered lol. I’ve been working non-stop (well apart from a two hour break to watch a movie) all day today on the site. I could have worked on it a bit yesterday since I had the day off, but I went out shopping and did a few things around the house first which took up half of the day and then I wasn’t really in the mood to do much else. But today I got a lot done. A lot of the character pages have been done. The ones that I had on the previous site are up, there’s some new ones I’m working on – I spent some of the time grabbing some screen shots of these characters to use in the character pages. I’ve done the Downloads Index page, which is actually an Avatars section. On top of that I created 10 new avatars just for that section lol. I’ve not yet uploaded them to the website but I will before the site goes live. The ReBoot Fanatical e-mag section is also complete and the links are active as the files are still on the server. I’ve also worked on the Music Videos pages, and thankfully all but one of the videos is still on the ftp server. I need to ask for more space and will probably have to do that tomorrow (though maybe I’m thinking that I’ll be done by Monday night?? Who knows?) so it’ll give me some time to upload any clips that were missing. That’s really been about it, though I’ve had to modify some of the pages slightly and as I mentioned I’ve also been grabbing screencaps to use for various pages such as the music videos and characters pages. I also ended up looking on the net for some good filters to use for doing the avatars. I think once I’d done the 10th one I figured that was enough now and I should go back to creating more pages lol.

So what is left to do? The rest of the character pages, the rest of the music video pages, the games section, the merchandise section, the Pixelacious section, the “In Memoriam” section, the Contact section (which will include links in/out and history on the site), a “Mainframe and Other Systems” section and a “ReBoot Terminology” section. I think that’s about all… oh and of course the home page which needs to be revamped a little lol. I was saving that page till last anyway.

At least now the work is under way and hopefully I can get things up and running very soon. I believe that the pitch for “Arrival” will win hands down as its the most popular and seems to be the only pitch that fans are working with. Second in line is “ReBoot 2.0″ which also did really well but I don’t think it’ll beat “Arrival”. For me I’m not terribly fussed, I was all enthusiastic about it but not anymore. I will support this, however, as I want Rainmaker to do another series (prefer a series over a movie) but we’ll have to see how it goes once the comic is produced and how much interest it gains.

Time to sleep and then another day at working on the site! ^_^
